99 Hudson
—
Creating a peaceful space to call home in the heart of a crowded city.
Location
Jersey City
Characterized by striking clean lines grounded with earth-bound colors and textures, this tranquil interior design on the 40th floor model apartment for 99 Hudson was centered on one notion: creating a peaceful space to call home in the heart of a crowded city.
For this model apartment, the challenge lay in creating a purposeful departure from the conformity of high-rise living. To illustrate the idea that – even in a high-rise with many units – one can customize a space to make it their own, ACDO developed a bespoke wood portal which wraps from the wall to the ceiling and frames the view to the city. This piece of millwork was cleverly detailed in the form of a jig-saw puzzle, allowing it to be easily refitted for other apartments in the same building.
In a further touch of personalization, custom furniture was also specified and developed to fit tightly within the confines of the provided architecture.
