To emphasise the curatorial quality of the store’s selection, ACDO camouflaged the first menswear flagship for Pedder as a collector’s apartment.

A comfortable elegance infuses this store design, which doubles as a swank ‘living room’ furnished by international designers such as Polish-Brazilian architect Jorge Zalsupin and French designer Christophe Delcourt. An extensive footwear collection is housed beside the fireplace, while small accessories are showcased in displays set into limestone walls and niched wooden portals. Contrasting with mega-brand retail spaces nearby, informal material and color palettes contrast enhance the human scale and warmth of the store ­­– notably, traditional mannequins were tattooed by local artists, adding to a rotating collection of work by emerging international artists and local favorites such as painter Michael Lau. This tony domestic setting takes the shopping space beyond the transactional, introducing a warm sense of hospitality that welcomes guests to stay and peruse at their leisure.
